A Third Party Administrator manages the operational side of medical insurance and health benefit funds — pre-authorisation, claims processing, provider networks, and reporting — on behalf of insurers and employers. Medvex is Uganda's first dedicated, licensed TPA for medical insurance.
Do I need to switch insurers to use Medvex?
No. Medvex provides administration services alongside your existing insurance or benefit fund arrangement. Insurers retain the underwriting risk and client relationship; Medvex handles the operational infrastructure and clinical oversight.
Is Medvex licensed and regulated?
Yes. Medvex Insurance TPA Ltd is licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) of Uganda as a Third Party Administrator under the Insurance Act, 2017, and operates in full compliance with the Uganda Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
